Pick-by-Voice – voice-controlled warehouse processes
Using speech is probably the most natural way to exchange information. ioDigitalSolutions helps clients to use this natural form of communication in the warehouse. With the voice-guided system Lydia® from our partner topsystem, we enable flexible, ergonomic hands-free processes, reduced error rates, increased productivity, and improved quality.
How it works
Staff wears a headset or vest that is directly linked to SAP EWM. Data exchange occurs via Wi-Fi. Information such as storage location, product and quantities is transferred by voice output. The process is confirmed via voice control or scanning and then transmitted directly to SAP EWM. Communication and data exchange take place in real time, facilitating an uninterrupted work flow and a natural, ergonomic way of working.
Pick-by-Voice enables voice-based warehouse processes directly in SAP EWM without middleware.
The voice process is defined with ITSmobile in SAP EWM and translated into speech by the partner-specific connector. Paper- or MDE-based processes can therefore be converted very quickly and easily into voice-based processes. Existing processes can still be continued in parallel, e.g. to enable a gradual, risk-free go-live or to cater for peak periods.
